In this culminating lesson, students read texts about people who have survived displacement, violence, and erasure and who insist on telling their own stories. Through a narrative about a young refugee finding her voice in a new country and a poem about intergenerational healing, students prepare to write their own resistance narratives — connecting the personal to the political, the past to the present.
